Texas Saturday
You know people often ask me 'bout the life that I lead
They say, "you seem pretty happy, do you live by a creed?"
I say I've been around this country, and it's all pretty great
But there's something kind of special 'bout the Lone Star State

Because the sunshine's brighter and the beer tastes colder
It's kind of like college, but we're all a bit older
Yeah, we work all week and then it's time to play
We have a good time in Texas every Saturday
In the summertime we float down the Guadalupe
We put a cooler of beer in its own innertube
You can make new friends and you can swing from the trees
See the folks here in Texas, yeah we do what we please

When we gather round the TV for some college football
Now I might be an Aggie, but you Horns can agree
That anything is better than the SEC

But it seems like the country is the place we should go
We'll make a big bonfire at the ranch by the lake
We'll drink some cheap red wine and eat a big ole steak

Well in my hometown, you always know that it's spring
When the Houston Rodeo gets into full swing
See the whole town parties for a few weeks straight
'Cause that's how we do it in the Lone Star State
